She also wrote "Sara Plain and Tall" that became a movie with Glenn Close and Christopher Walken. There are actually 3 books in the series. Written loosely in the time frame of Laura Ingalls Wilder they are about family and will catch your heart strings. This last book, Grandfathers Dance was so touching to me I bought 4 copies to give away. G.Williams cried when she read it. give it a try and let me know what you think.Janhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09795262295769276949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934297065978915304.post-67532795608915570062007-09-29T12:03:00.000-07:002007-09-29T12:03:00.000-07:00We're ready for book reports!AND life reports. We're ready for book reports!

AND life reports.Alainahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01408651044953479414noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934297065978915304.post-66550526355411122002007-09-24T07:40:00.000-07:002007-09-24T07:40:00.000-07:00I am pretty hesitant about the vampire love as wel...I am pretty hesitant about the vampire love as well.

I'm not sure if you're looking to read any LDS historical fiction, but if so you should read The Kingdom and the Crown series by, Gerald N. Lund. I just found them in paperback for $6 a book (there are 3). Both my mom and David have read them, and that they are amazing! It's been said that they give the reader a very personal understanding of Christ and his life. I'll let you know how it goes.Dave and Britnihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10398070506130728670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934297065978915304.post-42194556465672640092007-09-23T17:40:00.000-07:002007-09-23T17:40:00.000-07:00Oh yes, The Notebook is one fantstic book.Oh yes, The Notebook is one fantstic book.kendallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16066934481906069943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934297065978915304.post-20022980146042953892007-09-22T18:41:00.000-07:002007-09-22T18:41:00.000-07:00Read the Nicholas Sparks "Two weeks with my brothe...Read the Nicholas Sparks "Two weeks with my brother" (I don't remember if that's the official title but something close.) It's an autobiography of sorts, different than his fiction.

The new Mary and Joseph book is very good and fun to think about gospel perspectives. Thank you, Grandma Williams, for purchasing 3 copies to loan out to family & friends.

THANK YOU for vocalizing hesitancy to read about blood sucking love. So if you're looking for something carefree and funny, that's a great choice. Sorry I'm not great at suggesting books...probably because I'm still stuck in the juvenile section. You're more mature though...maybe you should get in the Oprah Book Club!Rachel Evehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10675463631046478387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934297065978915304.post-61436189437236532482007-09-21T11:37:00.000-07:002007-09-21T11:37:00.000-07:00And the Angus/Thongs/FFS books are hilarious. Yes, it's about Vampires, but you kind of forget about it a little bit...

If you want some teenaged british Humor read 'Angus Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging'
My favorite "smart" book is The English Patient...though I'm generally hesitant to suggest it because it's kind of weird, but the writing is beautiful
The Eragon series is wonderful. It's almost as good as Harry Potter, though I am not sure you even like HP. My mother loves Eragon too...
I think that's all. Sorry if these are all crap suggestions.kendallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16066934481906069943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2934297065978915304.post-35272460689159139322007-09-21T09:20:00.000-07:002007-09-21T09:20:00.000-07:00DONT GET SUCKED INTO THE VAMPIRES.Choose to get su...DONT GET SUCKED INTO THE VAMPIRES.

Choose to get sucked into FNL instead. I guarantee you'll feel better about yourself. Vampire love may give you immediate satisfaction but you'll feel bad about liking them afterward.

Have you read East of Eden? That's next on my list. I'm starting Cold Mountain on the plane tonight. Little Women has also been purchased ($2.95 at Target! a lot of their "classics" are that cheap) and is waiting for me to get unbusy enough to read.

I'll keep my eyes/ears open.
