Life Update
It's a little weird putting pictures of your whole profile into the public domain...But in response to popular demand, I thought I'd share with all my out-of-town readers what I'm looking like these days. My belly isn't too much to talk about, even at 21 weeks (just over halfway!), but I like it. :)
* The baby has been giving me some early Braxton Hicks contractions in my back...Who knew they could start coming this early?! I've redoubled my efforts to drink unreasonable amounts of water, and so far, they've eased up.
* Call my hoaxy, but I do breathing and relaxation exercises most every day. I am convinced that labor can be a calm and beautiful experience. (So if you have any horror stories for me about birthing, tell them to some other pregnant lady!)
* Business for me is going wild (so to speak), and I love it. I'm also working with a business coach to get everything ready to launch my business in California.
* Ryan's working with the Scouts, and I love hearing all the crazy stories about the boys running around, bulldozing each other, crying in the corner, yelling like mad, etc.
* From the front, I think I just look like I've gained 12 pounds. But that's okay. Also, thanks to my friend Larissa and our downtown Chicago extravaganza last Saturday, I've finally entered the 21 century and gotten some funky accessories. Thanks, Larissa!
* Hope you enjoyed the life update...well, mainly pregnancy update. Life is good. Spring is coming. Love you all!

Yes! I was the one requesting the pics! She wasn't lying! You look great! You're so right! Barely a bump! But still fun!! Congrats!!!
ReplyDeleteOH you're so cute. I really really want to come visit. Time is so short! When are you leaving for good?
ReplyDeleteWow, half way and only 12 pounds! Don't worry you're bound to blossom more & more. You're too cute! XOX
ReplyDeleteYes Yes Yes! Enjoy being tiny, by the end you'll be missing it.
ReplyDeleteLabor was not a terrible experience. Although drugs helped make it that way for me :)
TWELVE pounds! I gained 50 all told. Maybe 55 or 60 even.
You are a very cute mommy!!!!
ReplyDeleteTalia said "She doesn't look pregnant at all. Just cute." And I agree. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you look so cute Erica. I'm glad the pregnancy is going well. Enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I started having a lot of contractions when I was about 20 weeks. I thought I was drinking plenty of water, but apparently I wasn't! I started drink 2-3 liters a day, and the contractions really let up. So keep drinking!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think it's great you're practicing breathing and relaxation! I definitely agree with you. I'm doing hypnobirthing for my birth and that's what it's all about: breathing and relaxation for a calm and beautiful experience. (I don't know if you've even heard of hypnobirthing-- it's not as weird as it sounds.)
I hope you're feeling well. Enjoy the 2nd trimester while it lasts!
Your belly is so cute and tiny! You also look fabulous in your cute clothes and jewelry. What a diva!
ReplyDeleteYAYAYAYAYYAYA thank you for posting this. How are you so gorgeous!? You barely look like you're pregnant! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the business and I'm glad the pregnancy is going well (minue the braxton hicks...that sounds painful). I love you!
You look GREAT! And I thought labor was the best part of the whole pregnancy! You get to meet the baby! Keep chugging that water!
ReplyDeleteYou look very cute and tiny. :) I didn't realize I was having real contractions at 27 weeks and that's how I ended up in the hospital and on bedrest with early labor! I had a terrible time knowing when I was having contractions. So at least you're able to identify yours. Hope things continue to go well. Isn't it fun?
ReplyDeleteYep, I'm planning on doing it naturally. I loved my hypnobirthing class-- you should definitely take one when you get to CA. I am reading the book right now-- I read most of it for my class, so I'm just finishing up. I better finish soon!
ReplyDeleteErica - I found your blog on Amy's blog and I must say I am so happy that I have. It's good to read about your life these days...congrats on the pregnancy. Hope you are well.
