A Day in the Life

A couple of things to note about this video:

It is the green dump truck on top of the fridge that is causing all the mayhem. Sharing is hard! I remember my mom putting toys on the fridge when Rachel and I couldn't share. Now it's me doing it for T and C.

This is our house in all its lived-in, loved-in glory. I'm in the middle of unloading the dishwasher and reloading it with breakfast dishes. You may also notice a big circle of potato flour on the rug in the living room. I'm trying (quite futilely) to soak up a water stain in my new jute rug.

And no, Trenton doesn't hit me very often at all. And yes, this video ended with me putting both boys in separate rooms for a nice, long time out!

I'll laugh at this someday, right?

Happy belated Mother's Day to me!

  1. Haha oh gosh...talk about drama! That is really funny. Trenton is on the verge of a full on panic attack or something! Its good to have a sense of humor even when the world is about to end!

  2. That had me cracking up! So great. You will definitely be laughing about that soon. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the serious drama in my house! And don't worry- Olivia has begun throwing things at me when she is mad. A swift time-out always results. We are all doing the best we can! :)

  3. Oh man. I totally feel like that sometimes. I'm just glad parenting comes with fabulous moments to make up for these jewels.

  4. This is fantastic. I'm amazed you taped it. I instantly thought of the song "Mama Said" by the Shirelles.

  5. Thanks for keepin' it real! I hope today went more smoothly. You probably saw C. in full-tantrum mode toward the end of R.'s birthday party, too, so you are definitely not alone.

  7. Oh Erica. I TOTALLY can relate. This is usually how it is when I'm trying to make dinner and Matt is working late. I had to laugh when you said, ok, now you're going to go to your room and the camera flips off. Haha. You are a wonderful mom. Thanks for sharing. It made me not feel alone. :)
