Life has settled into nice routine, which is why I haven't blogged in a little while—not too much to talk about! One interesting thing did happen to us, though, in the last week. The bishop paid us a little visit last Saturday and released us from our callings and gave us new ones. We were surprised because we've only been serving in those capacities for a few months.
(Members of our church volunteer to help out in tons of different ways. I'd been working with the teenage girls in our congregation, and Ryan had been working with the Boy Scouts.)
On Sunday Ryan was sustained as the new ward mission leader and me as a ward missionary. I'd never pictured us in these roles (and for some reason, especially not at our age), but we're excited to get involved in this new capacity.
Ryan is busier than he's ever been, and between managing the complex, his long work hours, his CPA studies, our new baby, and now this new calling, I feel like the Lord is really stretching us. I know many of you are juggling a lot more than this, but for right now, I think I have just about all the balls in the air that I can handle. It's amazing how when you think you've got all you can handle, the Lord tosses you another ball, and before long, without even knowing, you're ready for another ball. I'm so grateful for the help He sends when I need it and for the confidence He blesses us with when we're doing all we can.
All in all, I've never been happier or more fulfilled. We are blessed beyond what we deserve. I mean, just check out this handsome little chunker heaven sent us!
Ahhhh! He's a little charmer! I am in love with that picture.
ReplyDeleteThat'll be interesting with the new calling....you guys will be great. You sure do have your hands full! I love you.
Funny - this reminds me of a group of photos we took of our girl a few years ago on our red couch in front of our tan wall: http://usfourwhitneys.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to look you up next summer when we are in Vegas. Maybe you can show us the best beach?

I know exactly what you mean! I'm glad He stretches us little by little so we get tricked into getting stronger :)
ReplyDelete"Juggling" is a fantastic analogy for our lives, nice one! I too am grateful for the confidence that the Lord shows in me by giving me "one more ball". Your new callings are so interesting, David was just released from scouts and called as a ward missionary a few weeks ago. He too is a little stressed about the change, but is excited for the challenge. I'm so glad that you're all doing well!!
ReplyDeleteHe IS handsome and with the Lord's help, you'll be able to handle it all. He never gives you anything you can't handle.
ReplyDeleteYou and Ryan will do so awesome in your new callings! I was always impressed with how friendly and welcoming you two are! The missionaries and investigators will love you!
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how cute little Trenton is!
