Disclaimer

I think I may have misrepresented our life in my last "Day in My Life" post. It was a Friday, so I nixed a lot of the cleaning that I normally do. Does anyone else feel like cleaning consumes your life? I'm always looking for new ways to streamline my cleaning (or just get used to living in a slightly more unkempt home), because it NEVER ENDS! No, literally, it NEVER ENDS! And naturally, the boys would much rather I play with them than clean, so sometimes I have to remind myself that someday I won't remember that time I scrubbed the toilet, but I might remember that particular time I took the boys to the park or played cars for hours on end.

My point: My next "Day in My Life" post will likely feature a lot more cleaning. :)

  1. I struggle with this, too. I feel like our place is never all clean at once. And I could spend all day picking up and the toys keep on coming out. I have to remind myself that it's ok because my kids are playing, being creative, and are happy. Any tips?

  2. Yes, the cleaning never ends. And I am not happy in a messy house. So I just have decided I have to just clean and still find time to be with the kiddos. It's a tug-of-war.

  3. I've given up at cleaning. Not that I was any good to start with. I've just come to realize that the pens will always be scattered all over the floor along with the toys. And I only have one!

  4. I feel like I am a maid constantly!! Now that Kade is getting older he is helping out more, which is really helpful. I don't have to run up and down the stairs as much...he does it :) I know what you are saying about wanting to play with them. There are times when I just let the house go so I can do something fun. I don't want them remembering me as their mom that cleaned all the time. Other times, I think they really do need to learn how to clean up after themselves, so I don't feel so bad I am cleaning (as long as they are somewhat helping me). So, one of my points is it gets easier as they get older. Sorry this is long!! It is just something that really bothers me too.

  5. HAhahaha, I assumed your opening line would be followed by something like "It's not really that bad" or some other softening phrase, so I'm giggling aloud to hear the opposite. It's accurate. And hilarious. Love you :)
