Survival Guide

A week (or two or three) with Ryan away means a fun outing or two like this:

Lots of crazy simple (borderline embarrassing) dinners like this:

And just to make it a little more fun, plenty of bare baby legs like these:

When Ryan travels, a thoroughly planned week is essential. In a way, I actually do better when he's gone, thanks to that planning session on Sunday night. I start my week equipped with activity ideas, both at home and away; playdates scheduled with friends; meal ideas; and projects to fill my evenings after the boys are snoring softly in their beds.

The only problem is that by the time Ryan comes home—all ready to play—I am exhausted! haha Oh well, a good night's sleep works wonders on this girl. So good night, sweet readers!

  1. I love you blogs! :) And I applaud your planning efforts. You're GOOD. Give those chubby legs a little bite for me!

  2. You do a great job. It would be hard for me to have a husband who travels away from home a lot, and I am impressed with how well you handle it. Bare baby legs rock, as do picnics.

  3. I would have a hard time with travel as well. It sounds like you are much more prepared and productive than I would be! Good for you for keeping busy. And I like the new simple header.

  4. You're my girl and that's my motto, too: When the going gets tough, the tough get going! All your boys are lucky to have YOU! XOX

  5. I'm totally with you on planning for when he's gone. I'm not as organized about it as you, but having a handful of tasks or errands or friends up my sleeve makes alone time actually pretty productive! Well said :)
