Free as a Bird

Other than the very early newborn days, this is Chase's first unswaddled nap.

3 1/2 months

I love swaddling because both my boys learned to fall asleep on their own very quickly. Now that Chase is proficient in that department, I thought I'd see how he did without being all bundled up. He squawked for about two minutes and then was out cold! I'm excited about this transition, though I make no promises that I'll keep it up. Swaddling is what I'm most comfortable with. Poor Trenton was swaddled until he was like 9 months old—and he was a not a small baby! Haha, anyway, just thought I'd share...

By the way, in case you were wondering, Chase sleeps in the bassinet in the guest bathroom. :)

  1. That is so wonderful! I can't believe he is 3.5 months old already, and I am so proud he is sleeping so well. Soren was swaddled till about 6 months, and started sleeping through the night at 10 months. We are going to start sleep training MUCH earlier with the next one. Ha ha. Also, we have the exact same bassinet. :)

  2. Nice. Ethan hated it. But we forced it for the first week because everyone says they love it. Chase is so big! I can't wait 'til Ethan has his own room...

  3. Look! I found your blog via Kristina's blog. I hope this continues to work. So nice when the transition is no big deal. Sadly, Isa still hasn't transitioned. . .

  4. Chase is so cute!
I forced the swaddle on bria until she was almost a year!! I was SO scared to unswaddle her, because I thought she would never sleep again. Maybe it's good to stop swaddling a little earlier. :)
